The Dover cruise terminals

Dover has two cruise terminals at the Western Docks, Cruise Terminal 1 and Cruise Terminal 2, both at postcode CT17 9DQ. Check your cruise booking or the port's cruise schedule to see which one your ship uses, and tell us the ship's name when you book.

You can be dropped off at the terminal, but there are no waiting areas for cars inside the port and no luggage storage at the terminals, so time your arrival for your check-in slot.

Getting to Dover

From London and the airports, the drive follows the M20 or the M2 and A2 into Dover. From central London it is about 75 miles; from Gatwick about 79 miles across Kent; and from Heathrow about 100 miles round the M25. Allow extra time on summer weekends, when traffic for the Dover ferries and the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone is heavy.

Flying in to join your cruise? We meet you in arrivals at Heathrow, Gatwick or London City and drive you to the port.

Coming home

Book your pick-up from the cruise terminal for the day your ship returns. We track the ship's arrival and plan the pick-up time with you. Your driver meets you with a name board and takes you home or to your flight.

Which car for cruise luggage?

An estate takes 4 passengers with 4 large suitcases, an MPV 6 with 4, and an 8-seater 8 with 8. For a long drive with cruise luggage, a bigger car is more comfortable. Child seats are free.
